This month, we hosted our very first Scoop Social, a Saturday morning filled with scoops, sunshine, and smiles. It was everything we hoped for and more: a chance to gather, connect, and share our love of ice cream with our community in real life.
At The Ice Cream & Cookie Co., we believe that ice cream is more than just dessert. It’s a moment of joy, and a chance to make memories. That’s what inspired us to create the Scoop Social, a monthly event to connect with the people who inspire everything we do: you.
What Went Down at the First Scoop Social
We kicked off the morning with a session all about bees, hosted by Xavier (aka the Beeman) of Nutrinest, a local bee conservation organisation. He shared about how bees are critical to our plant ecosystem thanks to their pollination.
Many of us were surprised to learn that bee hives can be humanely relocated and don't need to be exterminated by pest control. Xavier has even successfully taught homeowners how to live alongside the hives on their balconies so that we can preserve our local ecosystem.
After that, we had the chance be the first in Singapore to meet the bees in the rooftop garden at the Mandai Rainforest Resort by the Banyan Tree. It now houses 4-5 bee hives, with up to 20,000 bees in each hive.
Lastly, we enjoyed a locally made honey and ice cream pairing:
- Earl Grey ice cream, with Tee Tree honey - the mellow, sweet honey balanced the slightly bitter aroma of the tea; and
- Parmesan ice cream, with Trigona Gold honey - this unique, tangy, berry-like honey went perfectly with the rich, savoury cheese.
Both ice cream flavours were created especially for this event.
More to Come, and You’re Invited!
We had the best time talking to you guys, and hearing about how you discovered our brand and why you joined us for this event. We’re already planning our next Scoop Social, and we’d love for you to come along. Each month will feature a new theme, a new flavour, and new friends to meet. Think of it as your monthly dose of joy, with a scoop (or two) of ice cream on top.
